Lophophora Williamsii

Mature Lophophora Williamsii .

Grown from seed in the UK, this clumping variety of peyote- Lophophora Williamsii caespitosa cacti of flowering age (last flowered summer 2010).The slight reddish tinge is due to lack of watering last summer- we were experimenting to see if a drought might encourage it to flower since caespitosa seeds seem to be hard to come by!

OK! it's hard to photograph this very old plant as it is all fluff. Rest assured that underneath is a mature healthy peyote the likes or size of which rarely comes up for sale.

Image above shows Peyote, caespitosa variety soon after state of winter dormancy as we do not water our plants October through March. We first watered this plant April 2011 and expect it to flower in the next month of so.

• Kept in a cold greenhouse
• Diameter approx.  8 cm in diameter- flowers frequently
• Own Roots, not grafted or pumped up with fertiliser like some plants!
